Zusammenfassung: | Over the last decade an increase of cross-border workers in Europe has been observed. These people who are crossing at least once a week the border separating their country of residence from their country of work present several common characteristics that we will show in our paper. Less observed until now, what can we say about the role of cross-border work within the labor market? To describe this phenomenon of cross-border work, we will concentrate on the case of cross-border workers from Lorraine who are working in Luxembourg or in Saarland. The statistic exploitation of the census of France and of sources from the institutions of the social security from the concerned labor countries will be the basis of this analysis. This will allow us to show out firstly the role of cross-border work as a form of regulation of labor market and secondly its geographical concentration and specialization. |
