For the Entry of the Turkey in European Union -- Sick Old Europe and the Young Turk

Turkey already belongs to Europe as far as trade & geo-strategic considerations are concerned. The electoral campaign preceding the referendum on the constitutional treaty, in which fear was systematically used as an argument, illustrated both the bad faith & ignorance of political leaders on this point. Yet our cynical interest dictates that Turkey become an ally of Europe, as a "bridge" toward both the Arab-Muslim world & Asia. Adapted from the source document.
