Zusammenfassung:International economic development, the dollar's role in foreign exchange and regional economies have been associated with US regional economies. Data covering 1970-97 showed that foreign market indicators were significant in relation to total US growth, but not across specific regions in the country. This result indicates that the economy remains the primary factor that conditions regional growth, particularly for Midwestern states.
