Zusammenfassung: | In this article for the Conference on the Future of EU-CAN Relations (2005) the author asserts that, due to globalization & the Third Wave of Democracy, capital & labor are no long ether factors of wealth, but now wealth is knowledge in a network of colossal proportions. Three myths of globalization are refuted in terms of the actuality of Latin American governance, poverty, & wealth. The achievements & challenges to Andean integration contextualize a discussion of future issues facing Andean integration. The simultaneous challenges of overcoming the internal gap, & the opportunities & crisis of social fracture emerging from globalization are concluded to contribute to the construction of Latin American thinking, & the conformation of a South American space.
