Zusammenfassung:Brazil, as well as several Latin American countries, experienced a strong nationalistic movement in the first half of the twentieth century, which was mainly due to the emergence of urban masses. During the same period, the radio began to broadcast and take part in the Brazilian society. This article aims at analyzing the role of the radio during Getúlio Vargas’s populist government (1930-1945).
