Zusammenfassung:Domestic radioactive radon gas contamination is the most potent environmental hazard but its control has been inefficiently addressed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Epidemiological studies on miners correlate lung cancer to radon exposure. The EPA has propagated an indoor radon myth instead of creating measures for the identification, decontamination and long-term protection of high-radon homes. Thus, a new, comprehensive and effective program that involves public education, residential monitoring and research must be adopted by the EPA.
