Zusammenfassung: | None of the recently instituted social policies to promote the equality of women in the workplace has challenged the view of women as the sole caretakers of their children. The author uses feminist theory to analyze why social policies perpetuate traditional assumptions about mothers and do not provide adequate help for children. The tensions between policies for women and children will continue, she notes, until policymakers view the welfare of children as a concern of the entire society. |
