The Changing Tide of Aid Provision

Briefly describes the Fritz Institute's large-scale survey of humanitarian assistance beneficiaries following the South Asian tsunami and the methodology by which it was conducted, and offers an indication of its results. The importance of engaging beneficiaries is considered, and recommendations for how their perspective can be integrated into efforts to improve disaster preparedness, disaster relief and rehabilitation, and relief effectiveness assessments.
