Zusammenfassung: | The grammatical theories presented by Ibn Ezra in his commentary on Qohelet (ie, the Biblical book Ecclesiastes) are analyzed & compared with his other works & theories of earlier grammarians. His long discussion on the language of religious poems is described & his criticism of Eliezer ha-Qallir's use of rhyme detailed. The Hebrew consonants & their functions & various aspects of morphology are also discussed, including Ezra's insistence on the difference between transitive & intransitive verbs, his theories on the structure of Hebrew verbs, the structure of segolate nouns, & the Hebrew use of comparatives & superlatives.
