Zusammenfassung: | The Spovid opcena (General Confession), a Croatian translation of the Latin Confesione Generale, is used as a source for the investigation of adjective form & usage. A summary of the origins of the text (the first book published in Croatia, in 1496) & notes on the dialect used (largely Cakavian) are included. Focus is placed on inflectional (case-marking, gender, & number) & derivational morphology. Also studied are comparatives & adjective-forming suffixes, eg, -ni, -ski, -ji. Functional questions are addressed, including predicative & attributive usage & grammatical roles, eg, subject & object. Adapted from the source document |
