Zusammenfassung: | The advantages associated with the use of primitive elements of meaning to construct a semantic representation are explored. A critical examination is made of the properties of this type of representation. It is shown that the multiplicity of viewpoints & levels of representation in such an approach requires the abandonment of any notion of noncyclicity. The type of representation proposed here uses canonical forms, thus resolving the problem of redundancy posed by paraphrase & synonymy. 28 References. B. Annesser Murray |
