Zusammenfassung:ABSTRACT  This study examines the ability of audiovisual aids to facilitate second language acquisition. One hundred seven high school students enrolled in Spanish Two participated in this study. Two groups were formed which covered the identical material except that one group was taught with substantially more and varied audio‐visual aids than prescribed by the standard curriculum. At the end of seven weeks both groups were tested on the material covered. The audiovisual aids group performed significantly better in vocabulary and listening comprehension but no difference was found in structure. Discussion in relation to extant literature is provided as well as recommendations for future study.
