Language: Insights from Acquisition

Some recent findings concerning children's acquisition of their native lang are reviewed. The child has been found to play an active creative role in acquisition. Children's acquisition has a tacit or implicit component, such that children understand many constructions that they are unable to actively produce. Context is also important to acquisition.
