The Sources and Limits of Paronomasia in Romanian

Paronomasia - slight changes between words - is possible for all the words in a lang's vocabulary, but is most likely in terms on the periphery of the vocabulary. Paronomasia occurs where words resemble each other, eg, Romanian albastru 'blue' & alabastru 'alabaster', & tend to limit the number of phonemes of a lang. Romanian examples include forms with the affixes i-, in-, & in-; -al, -ar; -at, -ant. T. Adams Muranaka
