Zusammenfassung: | The intensional character of natural languages is contrasted with the extensional character of artificial langs. A modification of A. Church's simple theory of types ("A Formulation of the Simple Theory of Types," Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1940, 5, 1, 56-68) is shown to be able to serve as a tool for analysis of both the natural languages & those artificial languages that are used when data (eg, in databases) are to be fixed & retrieved. 11 References.
