Zusammenfassung:An integrated method of teaching grammar, the Integrated Sentence-Modeling Curriculum (ISMC), was tested with third graders (N = 22 experimental, 22 in a writing sentence-modeling curriculum, 19 in a regular language arts curriculum) over 12 weeks. Results support S. Stotsky's findings (see LLBA X/1, 7600087). It is demonstrated that integrated listening, speaking, reading, & writing experiences promote reading & written composition growth. The ISMC group showed significant reading comprehension improvement. Grammar instruction implications are discussed. 1 Table, 19 References. P. Lore
