Zusammenfassung:Recent research & theory on the growth of children's language & thought systems suggest that composition may be taught better by examining the composing process than from the more traditional study of the final written product. Surveyed are the fields of psychology, rhetorical theory, & psycholinguistics, & based upon this research a practical model for the teaching of composition is offered. The proposed writing model focuses on interaction between the writer & ideas, peers, & teacher. The conferencing model consists of three phases: rhetorical, intellectual, & syntactic strategies.
