Turkish Tinaz
The etymology of Turkish tinaz 'hay bale' is discussed. The word is derived from Greek thinos 'wheat bale' & is already attested in the sixteenth century. Both tinaz & its dialectal variant tinar are found as toponyms in Anatolia. AA Tr by A. Orianne
