Zusammenfassung: | A survey of 126 consecutive cleft palate patients was conducted at the Cleft Palate Clinic at the University of Oklahoma. The group was classified according to age, race, and sex, and given laryngeal, otologic, and audiologic examinations. Laryngeal examination of 74 was possible, with two being abnormal; hearing problems were documented on this visit, or a previous visit, in 69% of the cases; and 10 of the patients had other congenital anomalies. The study reaffirms the problem of hearing loss in the cleft palate population. AA |
