Zusammenfassung: | Whatever the explanation for positive correlations among diverse mental tests, it seems that Thomson's theory of sampling overlap of mental bonds as responsible for the correlation among tests is probably wrong. Results all point to the anatomic or functional independence of at least some verbal and nonverbal abilities. The usual positive correlations between phenotypically different mental tests probably come from concurrently independent but nonetheless similarly developing neural machinery. (CP) |
