Zusammenfassung:Compares general practitioners' (GPs) prescribing patterns of benzodiazepine hypnotics in a cross-sectional study of 3452 prescriptions prescribed by GPs for patients aged 20 years and older during 2 months. Concludes that GPs' prescribing patterns are not in accordance with recommended dosage and duration of treatment; this pattern is most pronounced in elderly patients. (Original abstract-amended)
