Zusammenfassung: | Managers received placebo drinks or enough alcohol to attain a breath alcohol level (BAL) of near .10. Complex task performance was assessed on 5 variables derived from complexity theory, comparing performance for 3 measurement periods. Alcohol diminished participants' breadth of approach. Performance on indicators of strategic functioning decreased after BALs had begun to fall but not while BALs were rising. Considers implications. (Original abstract-amended) |
