A comparison of factorial dimensions of assertion obtained from Anglo-American and German samples with special reference to Eysenck's personality variables

Starting from a large item pool containing mainly items from Anglo-American assertiveness inventories translated into German, a multi-dimensional questionnaire with five subscales was constructed on a factor analytical basis. All five factors proved related to behavioural rather than situational features. Two exhibit a correlational structure with regard to Eysenck's Extraversion and Neuroticism different from previous research. (Abstract amended)
