Zusammenfassung:Australian subjects listened to the same passage spoken in strong and weak Anglo-Australian, Italo-Australian, and Viet-Australian accented English by 10-year-old children. For 1/2 the subjects, each accent was given its appropriate ethnic label while the remaining subjects listened to unlabelled accents. The subjects rated the accents on the traits comprising the stereotype of each group. (Abstract amended)
