Zusammenfassung:On November 7, 1991, Earvin Johnson, Jr. announced that he was HIV positive. Preannouncement data were compared to data collected 1 week, 2« months and 4« months after. Predicted that in the week immediately after disclosure, helping of PWA would increase significantly, but, over time, helping would return to preannouncement level. This hypothesis was confirmed. Found no consistent pattern of changes in affective reactions to PWA. (Original abstract-amended)
