Zusammenfassung: | This book, titled “Health Sciences Environment and Librarianship in Health Sciences Libraries”, is the seventh volume in the Current Practice in Health Sciences Librarianship (CPHSL) series, which is comprised of eight volumes, While the other volumes are devoted to a single topic, this volume covers a variety of topics that seem unrelated but are important to understand the overall environment of health sciences libraries and librarians. Although our health sciences environment in Japan is different from what they have in North America, still there are many things we learn from this book. This article introduces some of the topics discussed in this volume, such as the importance of library management that takes into account its parent institution's operation as a whole, the Medical Library Association's advocating activities that influence society, and the strategies for environmental scanning for health sciences librarians in the changing health care environment. |
