The Ernst von Dohnányi Collection at the Florida State University

The manuscripts and sound recordings of Hungarian-born pianist, conductor and composer Ernst von Dohnanyi are housed at the Florida State University. The musician is now regarded as one of he greatest of his kind in the 20th century although his reputation had suffered so much during his lifetime as he was falsely accused of being a Nazi sympathizer. The collection shows Dohnanyi's constant search for perfection as evident in the many markings that he made in the musical scores. It also shows his interpretative skill as both a teacher and performer.
