Zusammenfassung:Librarians are constantly urged to gain technological knowledge or jeopardize their professional importance. This necessitates change for many librarians and often produces feelings of anxiety. Can librarianship overcome these feelings and gain the technological orientation and knowledge to safeguard the profession's future? One behavioral psychologist advocates change as a process consisting of several stages. Understanding this process will help library administrators create a positive environment for learning and change by allocating technological projects based on individual differences and honoring communication and technical needs. Such an environment will elevate the confidence and comfort of all library staff and help them gain, maintain, and develop technological orientation and knowledge.
