Zusammenfassung: | After almost a century of 2-way wireless telephone communications, economics and technology have converged to create a viable new option for local infrastructure. The wireless local loop is being implemented in several areas of the world as first-generation local networks. In developed countries such as the US, it permits the upgrading of existing wireless networks and competitive entry. In less developed countries, it may accelerate the construction of basic infrastructure. Many policy issues accompany this transition from wire to wireless local networks. |
