Zusammenfassung:Subjects viewed and wrote free response descriptions of 1 of 4 short video displays, consisting of either the classic Heider and Simmel animated film or one of 3 versions altered with a digital special effects generator: dynamic, structural or both aspects were disrupted. Analyses of subjects' descriptions provided evidence that inclinations to describe the original display anthropomorphically are based on characterizing patterns of motion. (Abstract amended)
