Zusammenfassung:Resource management in a multimedia presentation system is discussed with reference to the PROMISE multimedia presentation system. Because of the complex nature of environments such as process control, designers need to be able to examine the alternative possibilities which arise from their design decisions. The paper describes an approach to this problem using truth maintenance. A tool is described which allows multiple views of competing presentation worlds.
