Zusammenfassung: | Patients who are knowledgeable about the medications prescribed for them tend to be more compliant in their use. Provision of this knowledge is a critical aspect of quality patient care. In an attempt to reduce medication-related problems among at-risk patients, pharmacists, nurses, & other health & social services professionals conducted medication risk assessments in a community of minority, refugee, & low-income older adults in a medium-sized midwestern city. A total of 653 assessments were made at 47 community sites, after which participants watched educational videos regarding the use of medications for diabetes, depression, high blood pressure, & other diseases.
