Educational games and structured experiences. Commentary

Educational gaming has a long history in business and management. A considerable amount has been written describing the use of educational games, but in medical education gaming remains a relatively untapped resource. Discusses the educational value of games and looks at how they could be incorporated in medical schools. Argues that the value of structured experiences such as those generated in games lies not in the game, simulation or exercise per se, but in the learning that emanates from the educational experience.
