School smart?: Observations from Finland on how young women cope with sexism in educational institutions

This article looks at female students' various coping strategies when confronted with different forms of sexism in educational institutions. Sexism in educational institutions is a hindrance to the realisation of equality. We argue that it is important to acknowledge the problem, to be aware of the various ways young women have invented for dealing with sexist incidents, and to give them support.
