Historical studies offer no sustained comparison of the character and trajectory of anti-Semitic political movements in interwar Germany and Poland. Hagen argues that such a comparison yields an illuminating perspective on the social matrix of modern central and eastern European political anti-Semitism in general in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
