The Spufford Thesis on Foreign Exchange: The Evidence of Exchange Rates

Peter Spufford argued that two rates of exchange, the investment exchange and the transfer exchange, were quoted in any given banking-place in medieval Europe. Mueller contends that Spufford's theory is based on an error in inputting a set of rates of exchange.
