Zusammenfassung:It is argued that the local state's involvement on local economic initiatives expresses and gives new forms to the contradictions of capital accumulation and class relations. The main points of the analysis are linked to the most closely connected contradictions: between private profit and the socialization of production; between mobility and fixity; between capital and labour and the cooperastive and disciplinary moments of their relation; between the autonomy and holism of the state and its fragmentation, empiricism and involvement with particular interests; and between the universal and the partial dynamics of the state.
