Geophagy in Pregnancy: A Test of a Hypothesis

In numerous societies, the consumption of clay (geophagy) is often uniquely associated with pregnancy. Focusing on African populations, Wiley and Katz test the hypothesis that geophagy during pregnancy should be most common in populations that do not consume dairy products.
