Zusammenfassung:At the conclusion of the five sessions which considered the selected CIDA projects from the perspective of Identification, Formulation, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, and the Full Project Cycle, a session was held to consider "Lessons Learned". The objective of this session was to revisit the messages which emanated from the previous five sessions and then to formulate some generic conclusions concerning the processes involved in designing and delivering effective projects. These generic statements, in addition to serving as lessons learned and to thus be taken into consideration when designing future projects, would also serve to guide discussion in the two ensuing presentations. The CARICOM Programme for Sustainable Oceans Management and Development and the Pan-African Ocean Environment Management Programme are both in the initial stages of design. The gathering of international experts at this Workshop, reinforced with the knowledge which evolved through the interactive discussions during the previous five sessions, was seen to represent a valuable opportunity for the proponents of these two projects to receive useful advice to consider in the further development of their respective projects.
