Choosing and Judging Teachers: What Heads and Student Teachers Think Matters

This study compares some head teachers' and student teachers' views of what counts when selecting and judging a new teacher. The extent to which they agree could determine a student teacher's employment prospects. The views may also inform the practices of student trainers who are, in part, judged on the success of their students in finding employment and in performing acceptably in it.
