Zusammenfassung: | This article highlights some of the issues raised in 11 articles that were selected from papers presented at the 13th Australasian Finance and Banking Conference in Sydney in December 2000. It also analyses those factors contributing to the global financial market and the evolution of the international institutions. The paper highlights the significance of effective international institutions in contributing to the process of globalisation in the new millennium. It also places emphasis on the role of an international single currency and a World Central Bank in an attempt to further advance the process of financial market integration and increase in efficiency of financial resource allocation at the global level. |
