Zusammenfassung:In the wake of the recent shift in the "nature-nurture" debate as evidenced in Neurons to Neighborhoods, we examine and critique how context, culture, and development are currently construed in human development research. We go on to argue for a sociohistorical approach to development that incorporates multiple positional perspectives, micro- and macro-historical processes, and globalization processes, thus positing a more holistic and realistic understanding of human development.
