Zusammenfassung:	Scholars have identified numerous influences on news coverage but paid little attention to the influence of attributes of news seekers on the tone of news coverage. This study combined surveys from thirty-seven environmental groups with 716 newspaper articles mentioning groups. Analysis showed that groups pursuing conservation goals received more positive coverage, and groups communicating more with government or possessing more resources received less positive coverage.
