Zusammenfassung: | “Finance and Growth” is a such a fundamental and demanding subject, that – in all modesty – I need to cut it down to something practical, and fitting to my own background. I will try to describe the EBRD’s experience with the subject. I will do this from the position of the specialised International Financial Institution for Eastern Europe, which at the same time is the biggest single foreign investor in the region. Our investment accounts for about 9% of all foreign direct investment in the region over the past decade, and our investor role in Ukraine is even substantially above this average share. We are also a partner in the policy dialogue with Ukraine. The Bank’s President has just met with President Kuchma for another round of such dialogue and also sits on the Foreign Investment Advisory Council chaired by President Kuchma. |
