Zusammenfassung:When the migration issue is discussed in a sustainability perspective, two questions are vital. (1) What is the relationship between migration and the global population growth? (2) What is the relationship between migration and consumption growth, and how does migration influence the distribution of consumption possibilities both between and within industrialized and developing countries? Based on responses to these questions, it is argued that reasonably managed migration will be compatible with sustainable development.
