Zusammenfassung: | The Climate Equity Alliance supports legislation and regulation to reduce carbon emissions and slow climate change, arguing that they disproportionately hurt the poor and racial minorities, who are more likely to live near polluting industries and who tend to have fewer resources to cope with extreme weather. Climate Equity Alliance members concede that if EPA follows through on its plan to regulate carbon emissions on its own, there would be no explicit protections for low-income families from any resulting price increases, nor any provisions for helping the poor and racial minorities get green jobs. |
