Zusammenfassung:Application of revised universal soil loss equation to the design of construction site sedimentation basins was presented. Sedimentation basins (SBs) were one of the commonly used erosion and sediment control Best Management Practices (BMPs) for land disturbance and construction activities. The total volume of a sedimentation basin was divided into two essential zones, the sediment zone, and the settling zone. The results showed that the soil loss from SB14 drainage basin was more than twice that for the other basins, which explained the high turbidity and suspended solids in the basin. It was concluded that a crop with longer growth cycle appeared to be the best for erosion control as it had a better-developed root system and there was an increase in surface cover with time.
