Study of mechanical and corrosion properties of a Fe–21.4Cr–6Mn–1.5Ni–0.24N–0.6Mo duplex stainless steel
The microstructure and property of a 2101 duplex stainless steel (DSS) with composition 21.4Cr–6Mn–1.5Ni–0.24N–0.6Mo was investigated. The results show that yield stress of 2101 reaches 490 MPa, being 2.5 times of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel. Impact energy of 2101 at 20 °C is as high as 200...

Zusammenfassung: | The microstructure and property of a 2101 duplex stainless steel (DSS) with composition 21.4Cr–6Mn–1.5Ni–0.24N–0.6Mo was investigated. The results show that yield stress of 2101 reaches 490
MPa, being 2.5 times of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel. Impact energy of 2101 at 20
°C is as high as 200
J along rolling direction and declines with the decrease of temperature. Meantime, impact energy along transverse–longitudinal direction is 80–90
J lower than the values along rolling orientation. Ferric chloride corrosion test shows that rate of corrosion of 2101 and AISI 304 are 2.67
g/m
2
×
h and 4.61
g/m
2
×
h, respectively. Critical pitting temperature of 2101 is determined to be about 20
°C, being obviously higher than 4.6
°C of AISI 304. These indicate that 2101 has better pitting corrosion resistance than AISI 304. |
