Refraction effect analysis of using a hand-held laser scanner with glass support for 3D anthropometric measurement of the hand: Strategy comparison and application
In a previous paper, the general principle of laser scanning through glass was discussed in detail along with four strategies to calculate coordinates of a measured point. In this paper, these strategies are compared from several sensitivity criteria. Operational parameters are examined to give scan...

Zusammenfassung: | In a previous paper, the general principle of laser scanning through glass was discussed in detail along with four strategies to calculate coordinates of a measured point. In this paper, these strategies are compared from several sensitivity criteria. Operational parameters are examined to give scanning operation guidelines. Alternatives to implement laser scanning through glass, based on the developed models, are discussed. The analysis results show the conditions that the refraction errors in laser scanning through glass are controllable to within a reasonable range without imposing operation difficulty. The theoretical results are compared with the calibrated refraction errors, partly verifying the theoretical analysis. |
