Zusammenfassung: | Based on gold deportment studies, the presence of flaky free gold grains typically resulted in microscopy-derived grade overestimating the actual free gold grade. Therefore, an experiment was developed to ascertain whether the difference between actual and microscopy-derived gold grades varied consistently. Gold grains were separated from a cyclone underflow sample from the Golden Giant mine, Ontario, Canada. The gold from this deposit was known to have a high degree of flakiness. |
